Description

Alloy elements comprising 1% to 5% added to carbon steel provide beneficial attributes such as strength, added hardness, or additional corrosion resistance. Applications for these important steels include military vehicles, heavy construction equipment, piping, oil drilling platforms, ship hulls, and other critical uses. All Midalloy mild and low alloy bare wires are free of copper coating to minimize adverse contamination of the weld metal for x-ray quality welds and lower toxic fumes during the welding process. Many Midalloy low alloy “copper free” wires offer “low residuals” with x-factors < 15 and J-factors under 130.
